Cosey Casey Coleman (born on the 27th of October 1977) is an former American professional and college footballer who played offensive guard for the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons. He played for the college team of The University of Tennessee, was part of the BCS National Championship team, and was awarded consensus All-American honours. The second-round selection at the time of the year 2000 NFL Draft, Coleman played professionally for the Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL.

In his seven-year professional career, Coleman has played in 85 games. Of these, Coleman started 77. Coleman declared his resignation from football following seven seasons in the league due to his bad knees that would not let him complete an examination.

Coleman was awarded an athletic scholarship that allowed him to attend an athletic scholarship at the University of Tennessee, where he was a player for the head coach Phillip Fulmer’s Tennessee Volunteers football team from 1997 until 1999. Beginning as a freshman 1997, he participated in 35 games, played in 30 of them throughout his three-season collegiate experience. As sophomore, he played in 13 games, and was instrumental in helping guide his team Volunteers into Southeastern Conference (SEC) Championships in 1997 and 1998, and winning 23-16 against The Florida State Seminoles in the Fiesta Bowl) to win the BCS National Championship. The team’s performance was outstanding in the 1998 season, and even going through all season without allowing any quarterback sacks, Coleman was named as an All-SEC First-Team selection as well as an All-American second-team selection. He was a first-team All SEC selection, and was deemed an All-American consensus selection following the 1999 season, his senior year. Coleman was able to postpone his senior year and instead enter in the year 2000 NFL Draft.

Coleman was selected at the 2nd round, with the 51st overall selection at the time of the year 2000 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In his first season with Tampa Bay in the 2000 season, he was in eight games playing the offensive and defensive guard position and averaged around six pancake blocks per game. He was promoted to the starting lineup in 2001and started for all 16 games as well as the Buccaneers playoff game. To improve his performance, Coleman started 15 games in 2002 and also the three playoff games, that included the Super Bowl. In that game the Buccaneers beat in the face of the Oakland Raiders en route to the victory of 48-21 and the only Super Bowl title. Coleman played in every single game during both seasons, and maintained his standing for being one of football’s top offensive linemen.
