Cornelius Greene (born January 21 1954) is an former American football player who played for the college team of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Greene is the only African American quarterback to start at Ohio State.
After his stint playing in the Canadian Football League, he played semi-pro football at Columbus, Ohio. He relocated back home to his home city in Washington, D.C., to be employed by the city and run the recreation center. He is a professor as well as a multi-sports coach St. Albans High School.
Green compiled a 31–2–1 record in the regular season, played in four Rose Bowls, three as the starting quarterback, won the 1974 Rose Bowl against USC, won three Big Ten championships, and led the 1973 team to an undefeated season.
The year 1977 was the first time he was signed by his team the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League. His release date was the 13th of June.

He was awarded the football scholarship offered by Ohio State University to play under the head coach Woody Hayes. In his sophomore year He was named the quarterback’s starter ahead of Greg Hare. He was awarded the Big Ten Conference MVP for the season in 1975, after which his co-player Archie Griffin became the first to win the Heisman Trophy twice.
Green was picked for the Dallas Cowboys in the eleventh round (318th overall) of the 1976 NFL draft to be used as a wide receiver. On August 24 Green was transferred for the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for future considerations. He was released September 7.
In 1998, he was inducted into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame.
