Collins Dauda was born at Mehame in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. The parents of Collins Dauda are Issaka Naaba as well as Mariama Issah. The school he attended for his secondary education was Mim Senior High School where he was awarded two levels of education: GCE Ordinary Level and the GCE Ordinary Level and the GCE Advanced Level between 1973 between 1973 and 1981.
Dauda was elected to Dauda was a member of the Asutifi District Assembly between 1978 between 1978 and 1981. He was also a participant in the Consultative Assembly that drew up the 1992 Ghana constitution between 1991 and 1992. He was elected first to parliament during the 1992 parliamentary elections under the banner from the National Democratic Congress making him the first MP representing his home region of Asutifi South in the Fourth Republic. He was elected to a second term during the 1996 parliamentary election. He was, however, disqualified during the 2000 election to the parliamentary due to allegations that he had employed black magic to murder his rival professor.
