In 2018, Cleopatra Borel participated at the Launch Meeting Circuit of Central Coliseum in the National Stadium in Chile, winning another gold award of the year. In April of that year, she competed in the 2018 Commonwealth Games at which she dropped a bronze medal to Brittany Crew. The personal record for her throw was 19.42 meters, which she which she achieved in July 2011, in the Paris Diamond League Meeting. Her personal best is of 19.48 meters in the indoor track. She did this in February 2004 at Blacksburg.
Cleopatra Borel returned to Trinidad in 2012 following she had competed in the London Olympic Games, where she began training in preparation for 2016 Games in Rio.
