Prior to that she was employed for fifteen years at UBS. Furse’s professional career has covered many different world financial markets. Her career began with a brokerage firm in the year 1979 before she joined Phillips and Drew in 1983. In UBS she was promoted to managing director in 1995 , and the Global Director for Futures at the end of 1996. In the 1990s, she was an executive Director who was not a director, Committee chairman and Deputy Chairman of LIFFE which was the first UK-based finance-related futures market.
