Christian Daniel Smith (born 10 December 1987) is an English footballer who plays in the midfield in the National League South club Dulwich Hamlet.
He was a part of a trial at recently-relegated Conference Premier side Wrexham in August 2008 and was then offered a one-month contract. He scored the fourth goal for Wrexham in a 5-0 victory against Stevenage Borough on 9 August in his debut game in the squad. The club offered him two contracts with Wrexham in December. He they turned them down and he quit on January 5th, 2009 following the expiration of his short-term deal. He was a trialist at League Two side Macclesfield Town and was scheduled to sign an agreement with the club, however the signing was postponed. He finally signed with Conference Premier rivals York City under a temporary contract through the end of the 2008-09 season on January 15. Smith scored his first goal with a strike from 30 yards. The goal came in York defeated Lewes 3-1 on 17 January. It was followed by Smith scoring the goal for York using the ball during a 2-1 defeat against Eastbourne Borough. Smith was let go by York after the close of the 2008-09 campaign, after playing in 15 games as well as scoring two goals in the club.
Released by Wrexham, he joined Chester of the Northern Premier League Premier Division in August, after impressing on trial. The “Blues” stormed to the league title in 2011–12 with a tally of 100 points, and thereby won promotion into the Conference North. He left the club at the end of the season. Following his release he spent most of the pre-season on trial with AFC Telford United.
He signed for Jimmy Quinn’s Northern Premier League side Nantwich Town in August 2012. He moved on to Airbus UK Broughton in January 2013, before joining AFC Telford United via Stafford Rangers in March 2013, who were struggling to avoid relegation out of the Conference Premier. He returned to Stafford Rangers in mid-April, helping the club to win the Walsall Senior Cup with a 2–1 victory over Walsall. He moved onto Dean Holdsworth’s Conference South side Chelmsford City in June 2013. He helped the “Clarets” to a 17th- place finish in 2013–14.
Smith was a trialist for League Two team Bury before going to Scotland to join Scottish First Division side Clyde in August. Smith made his debut the first game of the 2007-08 season, which was a loss of 3-2 against Greenock Morton on 4 August. Smith was a starter in the first 11 games of the season. He was then being sent off against Livingston on the 29th of September, in the 88th minute which resulted in his being taken out of the squad because of suspension. Smith made his return as a substitute in the 81st minute in the 1-0 loss to Morton on the 20th of October. He was let go in the hands of Clyde in June of 2008 after having played 32 times.

Smith was born from Crewe, Cheshire, Smith began his professional career in his club Port Vale youth system in 2004. He would play for the first team for the 2006-07 season. He was first introduced after being selected on the bench during the 1-1 draw against Hartlepool United on 6 May 2006. His debut appearance was his the only appearance, on January 1st 2007 at Scunthorpe United in a 0-0 draw following his appearance in the 70th minute as a substitute. He was loaned at Conference National side Cambridge United on the 25th of January for a month. He made debut in a 3-0 win against Woking on the 27th of January. On 26 November 2010, Smith joined Conference Premier rivals Newport County on loan until January 2011, and made his debut a day later as a 70th-minute substitute in a 2–1 victory over Hayes & Yeading United. This would prove his only Newport appearance. Upon his return to Wrexham in January he was suspended by manager Dean Saunders for insulting the club over Twitter. He was sent out on loan to Barrow later in the month. After five appearances he returned to Wales, then in March went on to join Tamworth on an emergency loan. He made seven appearances for Tamworth and in his final appearance, a 2–1 victory over Forest Green Rovers on 30 April, he scored the opening goal of a result that ensured the team’s survival from relegation.
