Christian Prudhomme is one of the most popular and richest Journalist who was born on November 11, 1960 in Paris, Île-de-France, France. Christian Prudhomme (born 11 November 1960) is a French journalist and director general for the Tour de France since 2007.

In 1998, he was a part of the early stages of the launch for a new cable network called L’Equipe TV, television companion to the daily newspaper and operated through Amaury Group, whose subsidiary, Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) is the organizer for the Tour de France. He was appointed editor-in- chief.

Under Prudhomme, the Tour has strengthened its opposition to doping. In 2007, two teams – Astana and Cofidis – withdrew from the Tour after doping scandals. In 2008, the ASO withdrew the Tour from the aegis of the UCI to implement its own anti-doping regime. Astana was not invited and, that same year, Saunier Duval-Scott withdrew after Riccardo Riccò’s test for third-generation synthetic EPO. Prudhomme suggested that the positive test was part of a doping programme organised by the team manager.

In 2007, Prudhomme replaced Jean-Marie Leblanc as director of the Tour de France, having been his assistant director for three years.

Prudhomme was named head of sports in La Cinq. He often broadcast sports bulletins in the afternoon. In 1992, that program failed due to the lack of funds, and Prudhomme was a freelancer for the duration of an entire year prior to becoming a newscaster, LCI. He was just about to agree for the job the channel when Eugene Saccomano, head of sports at radio station Europe1 asked him to take over the role of Jean-Rene Godart who was departing to join the TV company, France 2.
