Choo Ja-hyun is one of the most popular and richest Film Actor who was born on January 20, 1979 in Daegu, South Korea. Choo Ja-hyun (born Choo Eun-joo on January 20th 1979) is a South Korean actress. Most well-known in Korea for her roles in the films Bloody Tie (2006) and Portrait of a Beauty (2008), Choo has mostly been working on China’s mainland China in the past, most recently most notably in the drama series The Temptation to Go Home (2011).

Despite 10 years of acting experience in her native country, Choo later said she made the decision to pursue her acting career in China because of practical reasons “I did not have a choice (but to debut in China). Acting is my trade, and I have to act to make a living, but in Korea the work was not steady enough for a stable income.” Choo was chosen to play Du Chun’s lead lady on The Legend of the Banner Hero (also called Clan Feuds), adapted from Taiwanese novelist Gu Long’s novel in wuxia that was titled the same. The film was shot in 2005 and broadcast in 2007. In the latter part of 2007, Choo made it into the ensemble cast of another Gu Long adaptation The Legend of Chu Liuxiang.

She was then cast in the erotic period drama Portrait of a Beauty, based on Lee Jung-myung’s novel Painter of the Wind which reimagined Joseon artist Shin Yun-bok as a woman disguised as a man. Portrait of a Beauty became the 8th best-selling Korean film of 2008, and Choo again received supporting actress nominations for playing a gisaeng who entertains noblemen by performing dances and poetry readings.

This was followed by Missing (2009), a slasher film in which Choo’s character is determined to find her younger sister, who’s been abducted by a psychopath farmer who rapes and murders young women.

Choo was beginning to establish her pan-Asian reputation when she appeared on The 2003 Taiwanese show Scent of Love, which was the top-rated show in ratings when it was aired in Taiwan.
