Shavers was admitted into the Women In Technology International (WITI) Hall of Fame and the Hall of Fame of the Arizona State University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Shavers has been confirmed by US Senate as the Under Secretary for Commerce in the area of Technology in 1999. He served until 2001.

Shavers has also produced and hosted radio talk programs, and served on the board of directors of several technology companies.
