In 1993 the year he co-created and executive-produced the short- lived ABC series The Byrds of Paradise, featuring Timothy Busfield, Seth Green and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Following the end of the series, Eglee joined NYPD Blue in its second season as co-executive producer and writer. In 1995 Eglee co-created Murder One with Steven Bochco and served as the program’s chief executive producer. In addition, together with Bochco, Eglee co-created and produced executive Total Security for ABC starring James Belushi and James Remar.

Charles H. Eglee (born on November 27, 1951) is an American screenwriter for television and film and producer. He was an integral part of Steven Bochco’s productions through the 1990s. For Bochco productions, he was a co-creator of Byrds of Paradise with frequent collaborator Channing Gibson and co-created Murder One with Gibson and Bochco. Eglee co-created the show Dark Angel with James Cameron.
When he was a student in 1984 Eglee became a member of the staff writing for St. Elsewhere as a story editor. He later became the writer and producer supervising The ABC show Moonlighting. In Twentieth Century Fox Television, Eglee wrote and produced the executive script for the pilot for a one-hour TV show, Rockenwagner.
In 2007, Eglee joined Showtime drama series Dexter as a writer and executive producer for the third season. He remained a writer and executive producer for the fourth season in 2009.
