Charles Gavin is one of the most popular and richest Composer who was born on July 9, 1960 in São Paulo, Brazil. Charles de Souza Gavin (born on July 9 1959) is a drummer and music producer his fame comes mostly due to his drums work with Brazilian rock group Titas.

While studying at PUC at the time, he was a member of the group Zero Hora, and later the groups Santa Gang, Zona Franca and Os Jetsons, the latter along with Branco Mello and Ciro Pessoa who were part of Titas the band which he joined in 1985. Alongside Ciro he was a member of Cabine C however, together with Ira! He did more shows and drew Titas notice. When he was in the month of December, after the group had already changed to Ira! to RPM (he had planned to release a double-track single together, but he quit before when they had released their debut album) He was then asked to join Titas. In a coincidental way, Andre Jung, who left Titas was to take Gavin’s spot as Ira!. Gavin has left his three-car life and devoted solely to music. In 1985 Gavin made his first appearance as a member of the band, and then he stepped in the studio for the recording of the group’s sophomore album Televisao.

In 2007, he released his first book, called 300 Discos Importantes da Música Brasileira (300 Important Albums of the Brazilian Music).

One of his primary responsibilities is collecting rare LPs. Gavin changed this hobby into another endeavor, Titas being the first one. Gavin re-released CDs by artists such as Tom Ze, Lady Zu and Novos Baianos in addition to organizing compiling for labels. Since the late 1980s, he’s producing. His first work in production included the record “Vitimas do Sistema”, by the Brazilian group Detrito Federal, in 1988.

In 1975, around 15 years old and living in Jabaquara, Gavin joined ten neighbors. Married to the dancer Mariana Roquette-Pinto (who was once kidnapped in Rio de Janeiro and, after four days, rescued by the local police, in a period both were still only dating each other), Gavin had two daughters with her: Dora, born in 2003, and Sofia, born in September 2005.
