On the 12th of July, 2009, in a match with FF Jaro, Jakobstad, Mwaba was credited with four assists for RoPS which resulted in his team winning 5-3. Mwaba also made the pass that resulted in an award of a penalty to his team, however the penalty was later ruled out by Mika-Matti Maisonvaara.
On the 6th of August on 2009 Mwaba got his very first selection to the Zambian national team of football by Herve Renard. He was awestruck by Renard who was watching the match with FC Lahti. Zambia was playing Ghana at London on the 12th of August however Mwaba along with 7 other Zambian players were not granted their visas on time due to the heavy work load at the Embassy.

Mwaba was among the Zambians who joined RoPS in 2007, aged just 18 and joined RoPS along with Nchimunya Mweetwa Stephen Kunda, Chileshe Chibwe and Zeddy Saileti’s younger brother Derik Saileti as a trial. The group comprised of Mweetwa, Kunda, Chibwe and Mwaba received pro-contracts with RoPS and Mwaba signed the 4-year contract (until the year 2010) and then extending it to a second two months in the year 2007. In the final stages of the season, RoPS received promotion into Veikkausliiga (Finnish Premier Division) which was a major achievement, and Mwaba was praised by Kari Virtanen to be the most promising youngster in Finland that he had ever seen. Mwaba was also praised by Jyrki Heliskoski, the former HJK and the former Finnish Coach of the Finnish National Team.
On the 15th of November, 2008 RoPS announced that Mwaba was loaned from his old team Power Dynamos F.C. where he would be playing with Stephen Kunda on a guest player status. In the course of his loan, Mwaba scored Power Dynamos their first goal in the game against Roan United in a match that ultimately was 2-2.
Mwaba and eight other RoPS players got sacked in the spring of 2011 due to a match fixing scandal. Mwaba also received a 20-month prison sentence for bribery.
