Chad Morris (born December 4 in 1968) is a well-known American professional football player. Morris is the offensive coordinator as well as the quarterbacks coach for Auburn University. He was assistant head coach of the University of Arkansas, a post he held from the 2018 season until the season in 2019. Morris was the director of football at Southern Methodist University (SMU) from 2015 until 2017.

Prior to his teaching career in coaching, he worked as the head coach of a high school within Texas for 16 years and compiled an overall record of 169-38 (.816 beating overall). In the past, he was chief coach for Lake Travis High School’s Lake Travis High School football team from 2008 until 2009. He was the coach of the team, including star the quarterback Garrett Gilbert, to back-to-back 16-0state championship seasons. Morris moved to the college level in 2010, when he was appointed the offensive coordinator and assistant head coach of the University of Tulsa. He only played 1 season in Tulsa before making the move to Clemson University as the offensive coordinator. Prior to Morris coming on board, Clemson went a combined 15-12, with a mark of 6-7 in the 2010 season. Morris introduced a quick spread offense that led Clemson to reach a record of 42-11 during the next four seasons. In December of 2011, Morris became tied with Gus Malzahn as the highest paid college assistant following the signing of Clemson University offered Morris an agreement for six years valued at $1.3 million per year.

On December 6, 2017, Morris was hired as the head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks, signing a six-year, $21 million contract. In his first year, Morris led the Razorbacks to a 2–10 record, notching the team’s first ten-loss season in school history. This included a winless record in SEC play.

On December 10, 2019, it was announced Morris was hired by his longtime friend Gus Malzahn to serve as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Auburn Tigers.

After a slow start to the season of 2019 and a 45-19 loss against Western Kentucky in Group of 5 opponent Western Kentucky, Arkansas dismissed Morris in his second season. Four of his victories as head coach were against groups of Five (Tulsa, Colorado State) or FCS (Eastern Illinois, Portland State) competition. In the end, he’s one of the few full-time Razorback coach who has left the school without winning a conference championship.
