Carson Coffman, born April 29, 1988, is a former professional quarterback in football. Coffman was the Kansas State Wildcats’ starting quarterback in 2009 and 2010. After Josh Freeman’s departure, Coffman took over as the starting quarterback. He also assumed the position again after Grant Gregory’s departure. He is also the brother to Cameron Coffman (a high school quarterback prospect in 2011) and Chase Coffman (an ex-tight end player for the Seattle Seahawks, among other NFL teams). Carson is also the son former Kansas State tight end Paul Coffman.

Coffman was the backup quarterback of the Arena Football League’s Utah Blaze. He also served as league MVP Tommy Grady’s backup. Coffman completed three of 10 passes for 29 yard, with no touchdowns and one interception.

Coffman signed with the Chicago Rush for the 2013 season.

For the 2013 season, Coffman signed with the Kansas City Renegades of the Champions Professional Indoor Football League.

After Grant Gregory had exhausted his eligibility, Coffman took over as starting quarterback once more. He defeated Sammy Lammur and Collin Klein. He had a great Spring Game and was elected as both a player representative and team captain for the second year. Coffman threw 14 touchdowns and 2,060 yards (quarterback rating 143.1). Scout.com ranked him the #359 quarterback in the 2011 NFL draft. Coffman’s performance in the 2011 Sunflower Showdown, where he had a quarterback rating 231.6, will be remembered by Wildcats fans who saw him lead them to a 59-7 win against the Kansas Jayhawks. Coffman also led the team into the Pinstripe Bowl in 2010.
