Carlos Navarro Montoya is one of the most popular and richest Colombian footballer who was born on February 26, 1966 in Medellín, Antioquia Department, Colombia. Carlos Fernando Navarro Montoya (born 26 February 1966) is an Argentinian-Colombian retired footballer who played as a goalkeeper.
FIFA granted the player special permission to play for Argentina in 1998. However, at 32 he was considered too old and he never represented his adopted country.

Navarro, a naturalized Argentine wanted to represent his country’s national team but FIFA denied him because he had played for Colombia in three qualifiers for 1986 FIFA World Cup – two against the exact same opponent, Paraguay – conceding four goals.
Navarro Montoya, who was nicknamed El Mono (monkey), while he was in Argentina, was born in Medellin in Colombia. He began playing professionally in Argentina at the age of 18 with Club Atletico Velez Sarsfield. After one year spent in Argentina with Independiente Santa Fe in 1988, he moved to Boca Juniors. He set club records for consecutive games (182) and minutes without conceding a goal (824). Finally, he was a regular in 396 official Xeneizes games. However, his last appearance was at Club Atletico Banfield, where he lost 1-3.
Montoya rarely settled with a team in the following years, playing in his country of adoption but also in Brazil and Uruguay. On 10 July 2009, at the age of 43, he announced his retirement from professional football, stating: “It is ‘goodbye’, but also ‘thank you'”.
