He was the secretary general of Independent Democratic Action (ADI), and he remained so until 2002. He was Vice-President until 2006 of the National Assembly. He was Vice-President of the National Assembly from 2002 to 2006. From 2008 to 2009, he was National Assembly counsellor. From 2008 to 2009, he was counsellor at the National Assembly. He later became Director of Administrative Department and Public Relations at the National Petrol Agency. This position lasted until 2012.
