Berlocq began playing tennis when he was four years old. He has had great success on both the ATP Futures circuit and the Challenger circuits. He won half of the Futures circuit finals in 2004, including six consecutive ones, with two each in Argentina and France. He lost to Giovanni Lapentti in his Challenger final in Manta in Ecuador before winning another Futures title, this time in Argentina.
