Although she began writing prematurely, her first novel, The Reverse of the Soul, was published in 2002. Three years later, The woman of mine, which was chosen as the best novel by El Mercurio readers, was published. In 2008, her third book, The rest is Silence, came out. Her stories appeared in many mass media including El Pais, El Mercurio and other newspapers. Along with other Spanish-speaking authors she also participated in an anthology of commemorative tales of the five year period of Punto de Lectura seal.
She is the mother of Micaela Altamirano Guelfenbein (1994), and Carlos Sebastian Altamirano Guelfenbein (2000), both from her marriage to Juan Carlos Altamirano Celis (1997). He was a former Programming Manager at TVN 2005 and son to socialist leader Carlos Altamirano Orrego. She is currently divorced.
