Carl Scully is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on April 4, 1957 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Patrick Carl Scully, born 4 April 1957, is an Australian politician who was a minister in the New South Wales Government. He resigned on 25 October 2006.

After Bob Carr’s resignation in July 2005, Scully was thought to be a candidate for the Premiership of New South Wales. He announced his intention to run. He resigned from the contest on the 29th July after it became apparent that Morris Iemma, the health minister, had the majority support of the Labor Caucus. Although Scully publicly criticized the party machine, it was reported that some Labor MPs believed his record as transport minister in the Waterfall train accident and other problems would have been against them at the next state elections if he were leader.

Scully did not recontest Smithfield at the 2007 state election; and claimed he rejected an offer from Labor to contest a federal seat. In 2013 Scully testified that he was disappointed that Eddie Obeid, a powerbroker, had orchestrated Iemma becoming Premier instead of Scully.

In 2017, Carl Scully released his autobiography titled “Setting the Record Straight”.

Scully was the ministerial portfolios for small business and regional growth (1995), state and national development (1995), public work and services (1995-97), roads, transport (1997-2003), housing (2003-05) and police (2005-06).
