Carl Rydquist is one of the most popular and richest Racing Driver who was born on February 9, 1977 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Born 1977 in Goteborg, Carl Rydquist is a Swedish-American FIA Intl B/SCCA Pro/NASA Pro race driver. He is also a SAG/AFTRA licensed stunt driver. Rydquist has won numerous auto races and racing championships. Rydquist became famous for his speed in 2001, when he beat over 1100 amateur racedrivers and professionals in a Eurosport gocart challenge. This was to promote Eurosport’s Super Racing Weekend FIA GT coverage and ETCC sports coverage. This event led to Rydquist’s first GT Endurance race with Apex Racing’s Porsche. Rydquist is a competitive racer and has participated in professional drifting. Rydquist has won more than one-third of his auto racing races, and he is currently on the podium in three of four Touring and GT cars endurance and sprint races.
Champion-sponsored Rydquist visited the Swedish Junior Touring Car Challenge in 2002 and 2003 with MH Motorsport. He raced in a Volvo S40 JTCC front-wheel- drive Volvo S40 JTCC car, as well as adding ground effects experience to his racing in the Scandinavian Sports Racing Car Challenge. Rydquist’s JTCC Volvo laptimes were faster than his teammates in his first practice. He also won a podium spot in his second race weekend after taking 4th place in his heats. Rydquist also earned more points than his fellow JTCC competitors during his second weekend. Rydquist raced a Radical in the Scandinavian Sports Racing Car Challenge and set faster laptimes that his teammates. Rydquist also took a podium position in his first race weekend with this car type. Rydquist moved up to 8th place from 16th due to mechanical failure during qualifying. Rydquist qualified an ex-BTCC BMW M3 for 3rd place at a Swedish Endurance Racing Series race in 2003.
During the remainder of the 2005 season Rydquist won twice and set the fastest qualifying laptime of all participating Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars twice, in the end earning the first runner-up position in the championship standings. Rydquist got invited by Loehr Racing at the end of 2005 to race in the inaugural Zandvoort 500 in the team’s Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Supported by professionally operated Levin Racing, Rydquist raced with team-mates Martin Morin and Bernard Loehr and they took the checkered flag first, making Loehr Racing the first Swedish team to ever win this race.
In 2005 the Swedish Endurance Racing series was officially dubbed a National Swedish Endurance Racing Championship. Still sponsored by Champion, Rydquist set off with the win in the premiere 3-hour race of the season, piloting MV Racing’s Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
Rydquist made his way into professional organized racing in 2001 by qualifying as the fastest gocart driver in a week-long race (Eurosport Super Racing Weekend Challenge). More than 1100 drivers competed for a place in the Pro Finals against professional racing and karting champs. Rydquist’s #1 laptime earned him a spot on the Top 32 driver roster. Rydquist beat all the present professional racedrivers until Rydquist’s final 6-driver heat, where he took third place with Fredrik Danielsson and Peter Dumbreck, professional racing stars.

Rydquist started his racing career in sports car club racing between 1996 and 2000 with his father’s Lotus Super Seven Replica. Rydquist gained race experience and won 2000’s Goteborg Sports Car Club Racing Championship.
Rydquist was invited by Elgh Motorsport to test the professionally-operated Swedish GT racing team Apex Racing. This branch is co-owned and managed by racedrivers who are Le Mans veterans and professional race drivers. Rydquist was able to bring the Apex Racing Porsche 964 RS home to a GT-class win in the 2001 Swedish Endurance Cup season. He won four 8H and twelveH races and claimed 1 pole position and 1 win in his first national GT racing season. Rydquist was also 2nd in the 2001 Endurance Racing Cup (Touring cars), season finale in a BMW BMW 320i.
In 2004, Rydquist was back full-time in the Swedish Endurance Racing Cup with MV Racing’s Porsche 993 RSR. Rydquist broke four official class lap records, took two pole positions and won three out of six 3-hour races on the way to winning an overall Swedish 3H Endurance Racing Cup title.

In 2010 Rydquist won the Redline Time Attack Championship, a series focused on qualifying setup and driving ability, by 4 victories and 3 podium finishes racing the turbocharged City Tire Online Nissan 350Z. In the process Rydquist set a new track lap record for his class at Willow Springs International Raceway. Rydquist’s year of 2010 was rounded off by taking 7th in class in #74 Team MER/Hankook/AE Performance Mazda MX5 Playboy Cup car as professional co- driver to actor Paul “Fast & Furious” Walker in the 25 Hours of Thunderhill.
