He was part of the team which won gold in the 200-metre freestyle relay at the 2017 World Championships. He did not swim in the final, but he participated in heats.
Jarvis represented Great Britain in the 2012 European Short Course Championships, Chartres, France. This was Jarvis’ first international senior championship. He won silver in the 200m freestyle, his second British Championship medal. He also set a new Welsh record for the 100m freestyle at the Championship. These results earned him a spot on the Wales team for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Jarvis competed in three events at Glasgow: the 100m and 200m freestyle, and the 4 x 100m freestyle relay. He won his heat in the 200m freestyle to qualify for the finals. Jarvis finished third in the 200m freestyle final with a time 1:46.53 to win the bronze medal. This is Wales’ first medal at the Games.

Calum Jarvis, a Welsh competitive swimmer, was born 12 May 1992. He has represented Great Britain at the FINA world championships as well as Wales in the Commonwealth Games. Jarvis competes in freestyle and backstroke. He competed in freestyle and backstroke at the Commonwealth Games 2014 in Glasgow, where he won the bronze medal in 200m freestyle. He was part of the Great Britain gold-medal winning relay men’s 4x200m freestyle team at the World Championships 2015. He became the first Welsh swimmer to be crowned world champion in swimming.
In British swimming, he was a notable swimmer when he placed fifth in the 200m backstroke at the 2010 British Championships. He finished fourth in the 200m backstroke at the 2011 British Championships in Manchester the next year. He was chosen to be a trialist for the British Team in 2012 for the 2012 Summer Olympics. Jarvis competed in four events at London Aquatics Centre. He won gold in his preferred 200m backstroke event, but his time was not enough to qualify him for the Olympic team.
At the 2018 European Championships, Jarvis won a gold as part of the relay team in the 4 × 200-metre freestyle relay with Duncan Scott, Thomas Dean and James Guy.
