Calvin John Eldred, born November 24, 1967, is an American former professional pitcher who played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball from 1991 to 2005. As a special assistant to John Mozeliak, he instructed minor league players on various issues. He is currently the Kansas City Royals’ pitching coach.

On January 12, 2000, the Brewers sold Eldred and Jose Valentin to Chicago White Sox in exchange for John Snyder and Jaime Navarro. Eldred was a pitching pitcher for the White Sox from 2000-01. He made just 22 starts. His 2000 record was 10-2, and he was named AL Pitcher Of The Month for June. Due to injury, he missed the entire 2002 season and signed as an unrestricted free agent with St. Louis Cardinals on Dec 18, 2002. In 2004, he pitched relief for the National League-winning Cardinals and made two appearances at the World Series. Eldred retired as a player in October 2005. He was awarded the 2005 Darryl Kile Good Guys Award by the Cardinals.

In November 2017, Eldred was named the Kansas City Royals pitching coach.

Eldred was named the AL September Pitcher-of-the Month and was fourth in the American League’s Rookie of Year Award voting. Eldred was AL’s leading pitcher in innings pitched (258), and MLB’s leader in games started (36) in the next season. Eldred finished in the top ten of the league in wins (16), strikes (180), complete game (eight), hits (8.093), home runs (32), hits allowed (2232), and bases on balls (91), which was the only exception to hits.
