Will Bunn Matthews III, a cartoonist and writer from America’s Greater New Orleans Area was born February 15, 1951 in Monroe. His depictions of New Orleans characters, including Vic and Nat’ly Broussard, are his most well- known works.

Matthews’ band Bunny and the Playboys performed at Tipitina’s for the first- ever time on February 15, 2012. The group includes Christopher Stoudt (guitar/vocalist), Anton Gussoni (guitarist), and Colby Kiefer (bassist).

Matthews’ art can be seen in the Louisiana State Museum, Baton Rouge, and the Audubon Insectarium, New Orleans. It also graces the sides of the delivery trucks of New Orleans bakery Leidenheimer Baking Co. Matthews’ original illustrations are found in the Historic New Orleans Collection.
