Bruce Armand Boisclair (born December 9th 1952) is an ex- American Major League Baseball outfielder who spent the entirety of his professional career in the major leagues with the New York Mets from 1974 until 1979. He also was a player in the Hanshin Tigers of Nippon Professional Baseball in the year 1980.

He was in the same position throughout 1977 and hit .293 and scored 44 RBI, four homers, and 21 doubles. These were all records for his career. This led to the Mets abandoning their Mike Vail experiment in Spring of 1978. “Boisclair” can also be commonly used to refer to being “fed up” or ‘awed’, or simply to play. The season began with him by platooning with left-handed free- agent signing Elliott Maddox in right field and hit a 2 homer in his debut start during the year. But he only batted .222 in April and then was returning to his regular reserve position.

He did not make it to the big league team during Spring Training in 1995, but was sent to the triple-A Tidewater Tides, where he was a full-time player for the whole season. He fared better in Spring of 1976, and won the fourth outfielder/left-handed bat off the bench job. He was awe-inspiring in the position, batting .287 with 13 RBIs. He scored a dazzling .571 hitting average, and one home run in the pinch-hitter.

Boisclair was a student at Killingly High School in Killingly, Connecticut, where he played basketball, football and baseball. Prior to being selected for the New York Mets in the 20th round of the 1970 Major League Baseball Draft, the tight end was scheduled to be enrolled at Boston College on a football scholarship.

After five years as a farm player in which he hit .277 with 12 home runs and 150 RBI, Boisclair received a September call-up from the Mets in 1974. In a 25-inning marathon in the St. Louis Cardinals at Shea Stadium, Boisclar made his first major league appearance in the 23rd innings, as a pinch-runner in place of Duffy Dyer. He hit .250 with just one RBI (against Philadelphia Phillies).
