He was a part of Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs as well as the Philadelphia Phillies and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Orix Buffaloes.
On the 21st of November 2012. Bogusevic agreed to sign a minor-league contract for the Chicago Cubs. He was moved for the minors in March of 2013 even though he hit .410 during spring training. The fifth outfielder of the team was Dave Sappelt, who won the position because of his platooning skills. Sappelt was first Iowa Cubs Opening Day first baseman, and he went 3-5 with one RBI and a hit in his first game. In April, he had been hit .420 along with 10, RBI along with 16 RBI. Bogusevic hit .296 with 12 HR and 57 RBI for Lehigh Valley in 118 games, and .259 with 2 HR and 5 RBI for Philadelphia in 22 games. After being outrighted off the Phillies’ 40-man roster, he became a free agent in October 2015.

Bogusevic was a double-star player at Tulane University, playing in the outfield, and as a starter pitcher.
