Bacon also came in fourth place on the Indiana Sprint Week and Indiana Midget Week points in the same year. He raced on the national sprint and midget cars the end of 2008 for Kahne Racing until the end of the year. He changed to team Mike as well as Megan Eubanks team starting in 2009, and was primarily racing sprint cars within the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) which includes 360 sprint vehicles. In 2011, he been named the best most promising rookie award for his performance at the Knoxville Nationals in a 410 sprint car, and also an USAC National sprint car win.

Bacon is a third-generation driver who began racing at age four and climbed to the top of the line.
