Then, shortly after beginning to write poems He quit college and quit managing the Gate to pursue writing full-time. He first performed with the band in summer 2004 and has since performed in concert with He Is Legend, The Chariot, As Cities Burn, Far-Less, and Blindside. He has appeared in festivals like the Creation Festival, Ichthus Music Festival The Alive Festival, the Cornerstone Festival, Parachute Music Festival, Purple Door, and Tomfest the music and arts festival.
In the year 2004, Hathaway wrote only spoken word poetry However, he has since moved on into writing songs. His debut book, All The Hits So Far However, Don’t Be Overly Excited, was released in August 2005. It came with an audio recording of his poems, accompanied by the backing track by Night of the Wrecking Ball.

Bradley Hathaway was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas and lived there until 1997 after which he relocated in Alma, Arkansas, where the high school he attended graduated in 2000.
After graduating from high school, he enrolled at in the University of Arkansas, where he studied philosophy and an additional minor of religious studies. From 2001 until 2004, during his college years Bradley was manager of the Gate which was one of the local venues for concerts. In the latter part of 2002, he was able to see the poet Clayton Scott perform, which led Bradley to pen his first poem titled, “I Felt Really Good This Day, Yes.”
In 2010 Bradley performed a short spoken word piece with the band Insomniac Folklore entitled “Kid and Snail” for the intro to their ‘LP’ album. [1]
