In 2016, Davy quit his position with the Scottish Labour Party and joined the Scottish Conservatives citing Labour’s “Patronising” approach to Leave voters as well as its “weak stance” on independence.. After his departure to Labour, Davy started work as a Parliamentary Assistant Ross Thomson, who at the time was a member of the Scottish Parliament for the North East Scotland Region, and eventually became the Office Manager of Thomson. In the following the same year Thomson had to pay back an expense claim for the hotel room Thomson as well as Davy were sharing in Edinburgh.
