Robert Martin Wahl (born March 21 1993) was the American professional baseball player who plays of the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has also played for MLB as a player for and the Oakland Athletics and New York Mets.
Wahl graduated from West Springfield High School in Springfield, Virginia, where he played basketball, football as well as baseball. While he was enrolled at West Springfield and began his training in the company of Brian Snyder, a former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher. As an adult player, he threw the team of his high school’s baseball team to the state championship and finished his high school season with a 28-1 record of wins and losses, as well as 284 strikeouts. He pitched 7 ⁄3 innings for Oakland before suffering a shoulder injury. He had surgery in August to correct thoracic outlet syndrome. The Athletics sent him outright to Triple-A after the season.
On July 21, 2018, the Athletics traded Wahl and Will Toffey to the New York Mets in exchange for Jeurys Familia. The Mets promoted Wahl to the major leagues on August 2. Wahl went on the disabled list on August 17 due to a strained hamstring. He pitched in seven games for the Mets, recording a 10.13 ERA in 5 ⁄3 innings.
In his junior season, Wahl shared the Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week Award on April 22, 2013 along with Aaron Nola of the Louisiana State Tigers after registering his first shutout during a game with Tennessee Volunteers. Wahl is enrolled in The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in the fall of his freshman year, where he played in the college baseball team, Ole Miss Rebels. Ole Miss Rebels baseball team. Although he started the career in the position of a starter pitcher, he came back to the field in relief pitching and ended with the Rebels close.
