Brad Weber is one of the most popular and richest New Zealand rugby union player who was born on January 17, 1991 in Napier, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. After the move to Dunedin He became a part of Dunedin Rugby Football Club (Inc) “The Sharks” founded in 1871, he first played with The Premier Colts side in 2010 before joining the Senior Premier team in 2011. He was part of that year’s Hawkes Bay ITM side in that season. He was a player for Dunedin during 2012, and was part of the Senior Premier side who was runners-up in The Premier Banner. In 2013, the Dunedin Premier team took home the Premier 1 Dunedin Metropolitan Club Championship and the club named him Speight’s Top Player of the Year. Weber continues to refer to his time playing with the ‘Sharks’ by delivering”Fins Up salute following a goal scoring in his present team.
2013 didn’t go as planned for him, as rising star Josh Renton was named ahead of him in the Dunedin squad for the ITM Cup squad and he was able to focus on school work than the game. In the middle of the season, he received an email to Waikato Coach Johnny Walters who wanted to move him north in order to increase competition for midfielders Mick Snowden and Kylem O’Donnell. His move proved more successful than he thought of as a string of excellent performances saw him selected as a member of the Chiefs bigger training group ahead of 2014. Super Rugby season. Tawera Kerr-Barlow as well as Augustine Pulu were selected as the first-choice halfbacks of the champions However, injuries to Kerr-Barlow prior to the opening game of the season against the Crusaders made way for Weber which saw him make his Super Rugby debut as a second-half replacement in a win of 18-10 against the Chiefs.
Weber made his All Blacks debut against Samoa on 8 July 2015.
At the end of the 2015 ITM Cup season, after scoring a second half hat trick in the final match against Hawke’s Bay to win the Ranfurly Shield for Waikato, it was announced that Weber had signed a contract to return to Napier to play for Hawke’s Bay for the 2016 ITM Cup season.
Weber began his career as a senior as a player for the Otago Razorbacks whilst studying for an applied science degree at Otago University. Weber played in nine games during 2012’s ITM Cup, but could not get rid of Fumiaki Tanaka as first choice half-back.
