Brad Edward Budde (born May 9th 1958) is an ex- American professional and college footballer who played as an offensive lineman for the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons in the 1980s. Budde played for the college team of The University of Southern California (USC) which was an All-American and the winner of the Lombardi Award. Budde was a first-round selection at the time of the NFL Draft and also played professional football for the Kansas City Chiefs of the NFL. Budde lives with his wife Nicolette in Capistrano Beach, California. They are the parents of two children, Sasha and Beau. Sasha is a high school English teacher in Irvine, California and won the Teacher of Excellence award for the 2011–12 school year; she resides with her husband Sean in San Clemente, California. Beau is a high school social science teacher and is the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator at University High School in Irvine, known among students for assigning exceptionally large amounts of homework, especially in quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic; he and his wife, Annette, live in Orange, California.

After stepping down in his position in the NFL at the age of 1988 Budde went back to school and received his master’s in physical therapy at Loma Linda University. Over the last 17 years Brad is a rehabilitation specialist for senior citizens in his role as the President Budde Physical Therapy, Inc. Budde Physical Therapy, Inc. Between 1995 and the year 2005 Brad played offensive line at San Clemente High School as well as Orange Coast College.

Budde was a student at his time at the University of Southern California (USC) and was a member of his USC Trojans soccer team between 1976 until 1979. He was the first athlete in the years since World War II to start as freshman. Budde is among USC’s most decorated offensive linemen. In 1979, as a senior Budde was a first-team unanimous All-American and runner-up in the Outland Trophy voting, USC Offensive Player of the Year, USC Most Inspirational Player and of course, an Academic All-American. He was also chosen as one of the very first Lombardi Award winner in USC’s history. In the year 1980, Budde also earned the NCAA Post Graduate Scholarship. While with USC, Budde started in three Rose Bowls, which were all taken by USC. In 1978, under the direction of the head John Robinson, the head coach John Robinson, USC won an equal share in the nation’s championship.

Budde was selected as the 11th selection at the beginning of the 1981 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. Budde along with his father Ed Budde, an All- Pro Ed Budde, became the first and only father and son team in NFL time to have been selected in the initial round by the same team and at identical positions. He was a player for the Chiefs from 1987 to 1987.

In 2005 Budde founded GameDay Performance Systems, bringing the fundamentals of high performing sports teams into the workplace.
