Bogdan Gheorghe (Romanian pronunciation: [bog’dan’steleaborn on 5 Dec 1967) is a Romanian retired soccer player who was goalkeeper, as well as is currently a coach.
Following a second stint at Dinamo, Stelea started 2005-06 with Greek club Akratitos FC. Not content, he went back to Romania as a player with FC Otelul Galati, but was not a part of any of the matches due to an injury that was serious. In the following season, he was transferred into FC Unirea Urziceni at the advice of the new coach and former player Dan Petrescu, where he eventually was made first-choice in 2007-08 when he was 40, he was one of the top goalkeepers in the country.
In 2012, Stelea became head coach of FC Astra Ploiești. On 10 August of that year, however, after a home draw against CS Turnu Severin, he was sacked from his post.
Four years later, Stelea rejoined the national side as assistant coach and, in 2013, was named manager of the under-21s.
At the end of 1997 Stelea changed clubs into UD Salamanca, where he experienced his longest-running period and remained with the club for seven years. His time with the team was punctuated by a brief loan period with Rapid. He played in 191 total games for the first team in his time, while playing mostly within the 2nd division but he played the first two seasons in the top division.

Stelea began his career with his Romania nation in the year 1988, against Israel and also was a part of the team at the 1990 1994, 1998 FIFA World Cups, and also UEFA Euro 1996 and Euro 2000 with a total of 12 games in the final stage. He was awarded the country 91 caps with the final match being against Slovakia in 2005.
Born in Bucharest Stelea began his career in soccer at his home club FC Dinamo Bucuresti, being the team’s most popular player by 1988. In 1991-92, he was still playing at the 11 Liga I games as the capital side took home the national title however, he signed a contract in 1991 to join RCD Mallorca for $650.000. Following two La Liga seasons in Spain which saw him relegated in the first and last season the season, he was signed by Belgian club Standard Liege but, unsettled after returning home, joined FC Rapid Bucuresti.
Stelea finally ended his long career at the end of the 2008–09 season, helping modest FC Brașov to a comfortable ninth place in the top division.
