Robert Louis Brudzinski (born January 1st 1955) is an ex- American linebacker in the football who had played for 13 seasons with the National Football League (NFL).

In the second third of the season in 1980, Brudzinski left the team and did not return with the Rams. He had scored 35 tackles, and six defensed passes and one sack, but believed he was not paid enough. He was substituted with George Andrews.

Brudzinski played 125 games with 94 starts for Don Shula’s Dolphins from 1981 though 1989, recording 14½ sacks to bring his career total to 23½ to go with his nine interceptions.

The Rams were forced to trade Brudzinski and did so in the spring of 1981. The Rams received multiple picks and the top pick was used to draft future star linebacker Jim Collins. With the Rams Brudzinski totaled 242 tackles, 9 sacks, and over 20 passes broken up in his 55 games (41 starts) with the Rams.

Brudzinski was four-time letterwinner and a three-year the defensive end of the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Buckeyes were a twice All Big Ten Conference selection, and as an undergraduate in the year 1976, the Buckeyes were a unanimous All-America selection. In his 43 games with Ohio State he totaled 214 tackles. He was the first to be the right outside linebacker during week 10, when Isiah Robertson quit training reportedly complaining regarding his pay. It was reported that the Rams defense was as the top defensive team on the NFL at the time, and over the course of the two-and-a-half-months with Brudzinski in the starting lineup, they never lost their high-end status. He finished the season with 43 tackles and a touchdown. He also intercepted the pass which was returned for an touchdown, and had the quarterback had two sacks.

Brudzinski adapted quickly to the Bill Arnsbarger-coached defense nicknamed the “Killer-Bs” which propelled the Dolphins to the 1981 playoffs and the 1982 Super Bowl as well as the 1984 Super Bowl.
