Robert Earl Brenly (born February 25 1954) is an American sportscaster for baseball and an ex-professional baseball player, coach , and manager. He began the time of his Major League Baseball career as an catcher with the San Francisco Giants. After his retirement as player, he was employed as a radio broadcaster with the Chicago Cubs, then as an instructor for the Giants before becoming broadcaster for Fox. He was assigned to manage the Arizona Diamondbacks for the 2001 season. He was the team’s sole champion the first time. Then, in 2004, he got let go to the Diamondbacks and was subsequently broadcaster for the Cubs until 2012. He is now an color commentator on Diamondbacks broadcasts.
