Pieroni has won two gold medals as well as bronze medals in the 2017 World Championships in Budapest as part of the mixed and male freestyle teams with gold medals in 4 x 100m freestyle and gold in the 4 100m freestyle mixed, and bronze in the 4 x 200 freestyle.
