Following her retirement in 1996, Nagelsen became a commentator for ABC and ESPN in the United States and Australia’s Nine Network. She was married to Mark McCormack, founder of the sports management company IMG. They donated funds to the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Centre situated at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. In addition, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Women’s Tennis Hall of Fame is located on the same site.
Nagelsen achieved her highest career singles rank by the close of 1981, and she went on to become the world’s top player. 23. Nagelsen was the world’s best junior player in 1973. She was her first title in the year 1973 U.S. Champion Girls’ 16 and under singles. She also took home the USTA Girls Sportsmanship Award in the year 1974. In her professional career, Nagelsen won the doubles championship in 1978 and the Australian Opens of 1980 (with Renata Tomanova and Martina Navratilova and Martina Navratilova, respectively) and made it to the singles finals of in 1978’s Australian Open, losing to Christine O’Neil.
