On September 28, the 28th of September, 2015 Sky confirmed that Eisel would be one of the team’s riders who will leave at the closing of the season, after four years with the team. The next day, it was revealed that he was joining Cavendish (and Mark Renshaw, their former teammate from HTC) to sign with MTN- Qhubeka. The team will be rebranded to Team Dimension Data.
After an announcement in which it was announced that HTC-Highroad was to close at the end of 2011 Eisel was a part of Mark Cavendish in moving to Team Sky. After Mark Cavendish declared he was cutting his three-year contract with the team and move to Omega Pharma-Quick-Step, Eisel announced that he’d remain in Team Sky until the end of the 2015 season.

In Voitsberg, Eisel won his first race at 11 years old. From the time he’s won numerous races. When he turned 17 the move was to Italy to compete in the club Rinascita Ormelle, based in Treviso. Then he joined Gli Amici Piave, the team of Moreno Argentin. In 2001, he joined team Mapei-Quick-Step and was professional cyclist. From 2003 onwards, he was a member of FDJeux.com.
In 2007 Eisel switched into T-Mobile Team. Eisel experienced a very successful start to his season, with his most notable win taking place in Stage 2 of the Volta Algarve. Eisel was able to establish himself as the right-handman of the sprinter and teammate Mark Cavendish, protecting him during the mountain and flat stages, and also being an integral part of the HTC lead out team which was able to see Cavendish win numerous notable races at his participation in the Tour de France and other races. Eisel was also able to compete for himself particularly in the classic races. He was the winner of Paris-Bourges in 2008 and Gent-Wevelgem 2010 and, in 2011, Eisel recorded his best finishing in a monument placing seventh at Paris-Roubaix. Eisel was appointed an official member of the first UCI Athletes’ Committee in 2011.
On 14th January 2020 he announced his retirement from professional racing.
