He was selected to his team the Cleveland Indians in the 22nd round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft. Heller played for Cleveland’s Farm System from the year 2013 until 2016, and then moved up to the Triple-A stage.

During the 2017 season, Heller split time between the Yankees and the Triple-A Scranton /Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. He played in nine games in the major leagues and struck out nine batters over 11 innings and posting an 0.82 ERA.
