Rebecca Edwards (born May 22 in 1988) is an American soccer player who played for Swedish club Kristianstads DFF in the Damallsvenskan. She was previously a player in the clubs of Orlando Pride, Houston Dash, Portland Thorns, and Western New York Flash in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in addition to FC Gold Pride and the champion-winning Western New York Flash in Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS).
Edwards was picked at the number 12 overall selection during the 2009 WPS Draft by FC Gold Pride. In her time playing for FC Gold Pride, FC Gold Pride she made 25 appearances (21 starts) as a rookie aiding in leading the team to an WPS Championship. She played alongside Thorns FC teammates Christine Sinclair and Rachel Buehler with FC Gold Pride.
In 2012 Edwards played for Swedish team Kristianstads DFF where she recorded two goals in 18 matches and 17 starts, helping the team to the quarterfinal of the Swedish Cup.
On October 16, 2014, Edwards was traded to the Western New York Flash in exchange for Carli Lloyd, along with Whitney Engen and a third-round pick in the 2016 NWSL Draft.
Edwards has vast experience playing at the junior level in his country of the United States. Edwards was part of the team which took home in 2008 the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with the future Portland Thorns teammates Alex Morgan, Nikki Marshall, and Nikki Washington. The year 2011 was the first time she was a player with her country’s United States women’s national under-23 soccer team, helping to win their championship in the Four Nations Tournament in La Manga, Spain. Edwards was selected to attend her first official United States women’s national soccer training camp in 2011.

Growing up within Downingtown, Pennsylvania, she went to Downingtown West High School and was the captain of the soccer team into the State Championship at the end of 2004 (the first state championship in the history of the school).
