Tasman graduated from the faculty of Geography at the Belarusian State University in 1980. Worked as a loader, worker of road equipment plant, assistant of the geodetic laboratory. From 1981 to 1994 he was working as a teacher of geography in several Minsk schools. His idea to create the Museum of astronautics (1987–1994) was realized at the Minsk school № 46.
From 1994 to 1998 he was working as a reporter of the first Belarusian independent sport newspaper Pressball. He also was an observer of the popular independent newspaper Svaboda in 1997, from 1999 to 2002 — chief of the sports departments of the Belorusskaya Delovaya Gazeta and of the Belorusskaya gazeta (2002). Wrote for the Russian newspaper Izvestia, Kurjer and Belarus&Business magazines, and others.
