In March of 2018, Jetta attended meetings in Rome which marked the United Nations’ International Day of Women and she represented the Vatican in a conference hosted by the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) it was the first time that the Vatican has participated in a gathering that was arranged by the CSW.

In 1996 she joined the Vatican Library and was the director of the prints department at the Vatican Library. She was appointed Vice-Director of the Vatican Museums under Antonio Paolucci in June of 2016. On December 20, the 20th of December, 2016, Pope Francis appointed her as the Director of the Vatican Museums beginning 1 January 2017. Jatta was the first female director at the Vatican Museums. She is in charge of artworks which include the famous Ceiling in the Sistine Chapel. The Vatican museums make more than $300 million and earns revenues of $40m from the tourists who visit their museum. Jatta has acknowledged the efforts of her predecessors. She has stated that she will end the snazzy line of tourists who stand in line waiting to be allowed in. She’ll invite visitors to visit the less-known areas of the museum. This will decrease the amount of people who visit those who visit the Sistine Chapel.
