She was elected again at the general election. In January 2013, she was part of negotiations for peace between Kurdistan Workers’ Part (PKK) as well as the Turkish Government and had a meeting in Imrali with Abdullah Ocalan in Imrali together with Ahmet Turk.
Following the DTP was removed on the 11th of December, 2009 after which she became a member of in the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP).

She was released on the 4 May 2017. She was arrested again in February 2018 for a speech she gave in relation of Kamber Moroç who had died as Turkish soldiers opened fire on a bus. In this case she was released in May 2018.
