April March (born Elinor Blake on the 20th of April, 1965) is an American artist and singer who performs both her songs in English as well as French. Her name is well-known for her music video “Chick Habit”, which was used in the films A Cheerleader as well as Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof.

March travelled across France in order to make the record Chrominance Decoder together with Bertrand’s label Tricatel. Tricatel issued the album to France in 1996 and Japan at the end of 1996 together the two songs, “Mignonette” and “Garcon Glacon” and an official video made by Bergalat. Ideal Records released it in America with the addition of remixes from The Dust Brothers, and Tricatel also released the album on Vinyl version in the year 2011.

March has collaborated with many artists, including Brian Wilson, Yo La Tengo, Ronnie Spector, Andy Paley, LL Cool J, Jonathan Richman, and the Dust Brothers in the U.S. and in France with Bertrand Burgalat. She has performed with the garage rock band Bassholes. Her collaboration album with Steve Hanft, titled Magic Monsters., was released online in 2008 and later in vinyl format on the label Martyrs of Pop.

The first group formed by March, The Pussywillows, was formed in 1987. She paused her the music scene for a year in order to take part in the Disney- sponsored Character Animation program at the California Institute of the Arts. In 1991, the Pussywillows split and March was able to form The Shitbirds, which lasted until the year 1995. Since since then, March has recorded as solo artist and has been featured on various motion-picture soundtracks, and has also performed the theme song of The Cartoon Network series I Am Weasel. The albums include songs that are sung by her in English and French as well as her style in the style of French 1960s pop music from the 1960s.
