Ashok Chakradhar is an Indian poet, author and the former director of the department for Hindi of Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University). After 29 years of service He retired on a voluntary basis to work towards the spread and development of Hindi (Hindustani) dialect. In 2007, he was named his Hindi director of the Institute of Life Long Learning (ILLL) located at the University of Delhi and in 2009 he was appointed Vice-Chairman for the Hindi Academy, Government of Delhi and also as vice-chairman for the Kendriya Hindi Shikshan Mandal, Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
