He was also a part of the strike scored by Pierre-Alain. On the 17th of October the 17th of October, he played his first league match in the game against Rennes. The match ended in a draw, and Souquet only playing in the first half.

Souquet was signed by Lille at the age of 7 as a young player after the club saw him training with Vincennes. After achieving great results within the youth team of the club and abroad, during the season 2008/09, Souquet was elevated to the team’s Championnat de France amateur team at the age of 16 when he was promoted. The debut came for the reserves during their 1-5 loss at the hands of AS Nancy reserves on 14 September 2008. Throughout his season, Souquet had 12 appearances, including nine games. After the season ended on July 17, 2009 Souquet was signed to his very first contract as a professional.
