Aoife Hoey (born 6 September 1983) is an Irish Bobsledder who has been competing since 2004. She placed 22nd of 23 women in the two- woman race in the FIBT World Championships held in Calgary. With a height of 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) her height was among the highest female in the world at the time of the 2010 Winter Olympics.

The bobsleigh team consisting of Aoife Hoey along with Claire Bergin finished in 17th position in the2010 Winter Olympics. After the routine MRI scan in the Olympic village, just three days prior to the event, Hoey was diagnosed with endometriosis, as well as the herniation of three discs within her back. Hoey competed nonetheless and announced her decision to retire from competitive sport shortly thereafter to avoid future and possibly permanent spinal injuries.

After a tough 2009-2010 season competing during European Cup and World Cup events alongside the brake-athlete Claire Bergin, Hoey qualified for the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Hoey was chosen as the flagbearer of the Irish team during the opening ceremony for those games.
