She participated in the 2012 Summer Olympics at which her team was initially awarded an Olympic silver medal for the 4 400 metres relay. Krivoshapka along with her teammates were later stripped of the medal following a test that revealed Krivoshapka was found to be positive for the steroids the steroid turinabol. Krivoshapka also placed 6th in her individual race of the 400 meters race in the 2012 Summer Olympics,.

In the 400-m final she took home an Olympic bronze medal with 49.71 s, which was behind Sanya Richards as well as Shericka Williams. She then won a second bronze in the 4×400 m relay in which she was a part of in the Russian team.
