In 2016, following a corner retirement (RTD) victory over Jamie Quinn in September and an PTS victory against Leonel Hernandez in November, Cacace fought British Super-Featherweight Champion Martin J Ward on 15 July 2017 at Wembley Arena in London, with the vacant Commonwealth title in the balance. Cacace was defeated for the first time in his professional career. He lost to Ward in a an unanimous decision (UD) over 12 rounds. The scores of the judges reading 116-113, 116-112, and 115-113 with all three in favor of Ward.

After his loss in the first round to Ward, Cacace gained a PTS victory in just six rounds over Reynaldo Mora on December of 2017. After 14 months of being out of the arena, Cacace was back in fights in February of 2019 after an eight-round PTS victory against Alan Castillo.

Cacace was a professional for the first time on the 25th of February 2012 when he scored an opening round technological knockout (TKO) victory over Ben Wager at the Emerald Roadhouse in Belfast, Northern Ireland. After that, he scored three wins: a point decision (PTS) against Kristian Laight on April; a sixth round TKO win over Mickey Coveney in July; and Aivaras Balsys with PTS in September. Cacace took on Mickey Coveney for a second time on November 3rd, 2012 in the National Basketball Arena in Dublin. Cacace defeated Coveney via first-round TKO to win his BUI super-featherweight crown. The last fight he fought in 2012 was an impressive PTS victory over Youssef al-Hamidi in December.

He was awarded decision wins against Zsolt Nagy during March, and Osnel Charles at the end of October 2013. and then he won against Dawid Knade via TKO in September, and Simas Volosinas with PTS in December of 2014. The year started with an PTS victory against Santiago Bustos in February and the TKO victory against Karoly Lakatos at the end of June. The final fight of the year took place with Ronnie Clark for the vacant Celtic super-featherweight title. The fight was held on October 16 in the Meadowbank Sports Centre in Edinburgh. Cacace took home the Celtic title by a tenth round TKO during a planned 10-round fight.

Cacace, as the mandatory contender, was due to challenge for the British super-featherweight title on 3 August 2019 against reigning champion Sam Bowen, however, Bowen pulled out of the fight due to a back injury. The bout was rescheduled for 30 November at Arena Birmingham. Cacace won, capturing the British title via split decision (SD), with two judges scoring the bout 115–113 to Cacace while the third scored it 115–112 to Bowen.
