On September 12, 2012, Weintraub took part in the Davis Cup tie against the Japan Davis Cup team and beat his first opponent Tatsuma Ito straight-sets. He then took the match to Go Soeda who ranked 170 places above him , in just four sets. Due to this match, Israel was selected for 2012’s Davis Cup World Group after having been absent for two years.
Weintraub qualified for singles main draw play at the 2013 Australian Open, and lost in the second round.
In January 2011 , Weintraub took part first time in the first Grand Slam tournament, the Australian Open, but lost in the initial qualifying round. In the same month there was a decision made Weintraub would be a part of the Israeli Davis Cup team as the second singles player in their match against Poland.
