Alongside Late Night, Ruffin writes on the Comedy Central show Detroiters and is a regular narrator for the other Comedy Central show, Drunk History. Ruffin has created a one-camera comedy series Going Dutch in 2017, however the show was never scheduled. She relocated from Chicago to Los Angeles, where she joined the YouTube comedy group RobotDown and also appeared in one episode on Key & Peele.
Ruffin got married to Jan Schiltmeijer, a native of the Netherlands in the year the year 2010. The couple first met while Ruffin was in Amsterdam as a part of Boom Chicago.
